About GOYA

GOYA is an opportunity for young adults to participate in the church community and to have some fun with other Greek teenagers. To qualify for membership, you must be in the 7th grade or older (up to 12th grade). Meetings are always the first Sunday of the month.

Our activities include, basketball tournaments, volunteering at shelters, luminaries and Christmas caroling in December, bowling. Lenten dinners, and even more during the year. All you need to join is to come to a meeting! We're excited for the upcoming meetings and events, and we will keep you posted on the many activities including basketball.

Cleveland Area GOYA Advisors,

Thank you for getting back to us with the number of GOYA basketball teams your church will be bringing to our one day basketball tournament on Saturday, December 17. All games will be played at the St. Demetrios Zapis Activity Center gym. It is great to report that we had a lot of interest and we will have 17 teams participating from our five churches.

Attached is a You will need Adobe Acrobat to Download this PDF document.schedule of the times of the games for the day. We set the schedule to provide for each team to play two games that day. Our first game starts 8 AM promptly! We have to get 17 games in during the course of the day, so we will be starting a new game every 45 minutes. We will be using a running clock for most of the time and will be using a format used for high school scrimmages to keep things moving. To help cover the costs of the referees, please bring a check for $50 per team you are bringing, made payable to St. Demetrios GOYA. We will have a concession stand for snacks, drinks, and pizza.

Please forward this email to anyone else at your church who needs this information. We look forward to seeing you next Saturday!

Manuel and Maggie Steffas
